Pixiu Introduction:

Pixiu or Pi Yao originally known as Bi Xie (to ward off evil spirits) is a Chinese mythical hybrid creature considered to be a very powerful protector to practitioners of Feng Shui. It resembles a winged lion. Pixiu is an earth and sea variation, particularly an influential and auspicious creature for wealth. It is said to have a voracious appetite towards only gold and silver. Therefore traditionally to the Chinese, Pixiu has always been regarded as an auspicious creature that possessed mystical power capable of drawing Cai Qi ( wealth) from all directions. Thus, it is helpful for those who are going through a bad year according to Chinese zodiac.

There are two different types of Pi Xiu. The difference is with their horns. The one with two horns is known as Pi Ya and the one with one horn is called Tian Lu .

Tian Lu - is in charge of wealth. Displaying Tian Lu at home or in the office is said to prevent wealth from flowing away.
Pi Ya - wards off evil. It is also believed that Pi Ya has the ability of assisting anyone who is suffering from bad Feng Shui that is due to having offended the Grand Duke Jupiter (also called as Tai Sui ). Pi Xiu is the ninth offspring of the dragon. Pi Xiu craves the smell of gold and silver and it likes to bring his master money in his mouth. Statues of this creature are often used to attract wealth in feng shui.

Obsidian Introduction:

Color: Obsidian is usually black. Other colors include: brown, gray, red, blue and green, clear, orange, yellow.

Obsidian is a natural glass of volcanic origin that is formed by the rapid cooling of viscous lava. Obsidian is extremely rich in silica (about 35 to 80 percent) and is low in water. Obsidian is made of the same minerals as granite but cooled so quickly that they do not have time to crystallize.
Obsidian has a glassy lustre and is slightly harder than window glass. Though obsidian is typically jet-black in color, the presence of hematiteproduces red and brown varieties, and the inclusion of tiny gas bubbles may create a golden sheen. Obsidian in attractive and variegated colors is used as a semiprecious stone.

The name's origin: Discovered by Obsius in Ethiopia, obsidian is named after him.

Varieties: Black patterned obsidian with greyish-white inclusions which resemble snowflakes is often called snowflake obsidian.

Care and treatment: Obsidian is fairly fragile. Avoid sharp blows as it will crack.

Mystical power: Obsidian is often used for gaining clear insight into problems. Obsidian stabilizes and is a chastiser. Obsidian can obsorb negative energe. So it is good for health.

Deposits: The obsidians of Mount Hekla in Iceland, the Eolie Islands off the coast of Italy, and Obsidian Cliff in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, U.S., are all well-known occurrences. Obsidian is also found in Hawaii, Japan and Java. Dark pieces found in Arizona and New Mexico are called Apache Tears.

Feng Shui is a Chinese art and science?about the balancing of energy to promote health and fortune for the people inhabiting an area. The practice of Feng Shui dates back to over three thousand years and was developed based on the idea that land and nature is filled with Chi or energy and how this energy occupies a space is what brings in a good harvest.

Feng Shui has its roots in ancient Chinese science from as far back as three thousand years ago. It is a complicated science that basically means that a good balance of energy in a particular space will give the people living there good health and prosperity. Chinese believe that wind and water are in part symbols of good health therefore, Feng has come to mean wind and Shui has come to mean water.

Feng (pronounced Fung) represents wind, where Shui (pronounced Shway) stands for the element of water. The belief is that the harmonious balance between gentle winds and clear water, leads to health and fortune.

When applied correctly, Feng Shui can bring good luck and good fortune to anyone. The principles of Feng Shui can be used to create a harmonic environment within your home, increase wealth and prosperity and increase the happiness that occurs within the four walls of your home. Your home is not only furnitures, walls, you may do something to get more relaxation, happiness, health, and wealth.
